Learn about Ticks: Resources Online

Here are links to tick information websites to help you understand tick hazards, and learn how to protect yourself and your family and friends.

The University of Rhode Island has a TickEncounter website. It is a fount of valuable information. Their Field Guide, Field Guide to Ticks – TickEncounter, provides a map to click on an area and month of the year to see which ticks are active in each area.  They also have tips for things you can do to protect yourself from ticks also on the TickEncounter site. https://web.uri.edu/tickencounter/ticksmart/

Also, check out the Tufts University Lyme Disease Initiative, Home | Tufts Lyme Disease Initiative. The focus of this site is Lyme disease and the blacklegged deer ticks that transmit Lyme.
